Barcelona has etched their name in La Liga history by becoming the first club to secure a perfect home record for an entire season. This remarkable achievement was solidified in the final Spotify Camp Nou match of the 2025-26 campaign, where they triumphed over Real Betis with a 3-1 scoreline.
Coach Hansi Flick introduced several changes to the lineup following their midweek loss to Alaves. Players like Joan Garcia, Pedri, and Raphinha were reinstated for what would be Robert Lewandowski’s final outing at the iconic stadium. Despite the star striker’s presence, it was Raphinha who broke the deadlock, skillfully deceiving Betis goalkeeper Alvaro Valles to find the far corner and give Barcelona the lead at halftime.
The Catalan giants extended their advantage in the 62nd minute when Raphinha scored his second goal of the match. He capitalized on a misplaced pass from Hector Bellerin, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
However, Real Betis managed to pull one back shortly after. Isco, who came on as a substitute at halftime, was awarded a penalty after being fouled by Gavi inside the Barcelona box. He successfully converted the spot-kick, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and creating a tense atmosphere.
Barcelona’s historic victory was sealed in the 74th minute when Joao Cancelo’s long-range strike proved too much for Valles, making it 3-1. The home side held onto their lead for the remainder of the game, securing their place in the record books.
Lewandowski bids farewell to Barcelona fans with a win
While the club celebrates its historic undefeated home season, the overwhelming sentiment at Spotify Camp Nou was one of gratitude towards Robert Lewandowski. The striker was visibly emotional as he was celebrated by the fans for the last time in the stadium.
