Real Madrid is gearing up for an active summer as they aim to rebound from two disappointing seasons. The club is looking to recruit a new centre-back and midfielder, with rumors also circulating about a potential addition to the right wing, and Michael Olise is reportedly the preferred target.
Olise experienced a standout 2025-26 season, scoring 22 goals and providing 26 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. This impressive form has attracted the attention of Real Madrid, with president Florentino Perez said to be a great admirer of the French international winger.
However, reports indicate that Bayern Munich has no intention of considering offers for Olise. This was explicitly stated by honorary president Uli Hoeness, who spoke to the media (via Marca) following Bayern’s DFB Pokal victory on Saturday. Hoeness also commented on the presence of Real Madrid’s anticipated new manager, Jose Mourinho, at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
“He can look at Olise with five eyes if he wishes, but it will be of no use. He is staying, he is not for sale, and Mourinho could have saved himself the trip from Madrid.”
Why Was Mourinho at the DFB Pokal Final?
Although Mourinho, who has agreed to manage Real Madrid starting in the summer, was indeed present at the Olympiastadion, his attendance was unrelated to Olise or even his future club. Marca reports that the Portuguese was there as a guest of Adidas, fulfilling commercial and advertising obligations connected to the DFB Pokal final between Bayern and Stuttgart.
In reality, it would be surprising if Real Madrid pursued Olise this summer. While he would undoubtedly be an exceptional signing, given Bayern’s firm stance and the considerable financial investment required to even initiate negotiations, a deal is highly improbable.
